We are a mobile catering business which specialises in Neapolitan style Wood Fired Pizza. We can usually be found at Street Food events, Pop-up Cinemas, Artisan Markets, Festivals. We our also available for hire for any private occasions such as Weddings, Birthdays, Anniversaries and Corporate events.
Our dough is made daily, each batch is proved for at least 48 hours to allow the fresh yeast to create a light dough with maximum flavour. It’s made with 00 flour, sea salt, water and fresh yeast. Each base is hand stretched and cooked in our wood fired oven which takes just under 2 minutes.
We use only the finest San Marzano tomatoes to make the sauce for our bases and top them with Italian fior di latte mozzarella. Our Pizza toppings vary from imported meats to locally grown vegetables. We love our classic Margherita but we also love to experiment in the kitchen. Gluten free bases and vegan cheese are also options which are available on request.
We are available to cater from our Gazebos or our Horsebox Trailer depending on the location of your event. We have catered on the side of a mountain before for an adventurous Wedding and the Gazebo turned out to be the best option. If you’re having a birthday party and you want something to stand out maybe our horsebox would be more appealing; we’ll leave it for you to decide.
Hello! I’m Paul. Firstly, I’d like to say thank you for taking the time to visit our site.
I started I Knead Pizza in June 2015, it was, at first a project for the weekend, my own part-time job. I didn’t want to work part time in a job I had no passion for anymore. I, at the time already worked for a charity full-time and believed it to be very satisfying working for a good cause but I wanted to try something else and see if I could do it. I thought I could create my own job and be my own boss, even if it was only at weekends.
I’ve always been interested in cooking and playing around in the kitchen so at the beginning of 2014 I signed up to a bread making course, this really kick started my passion for real bread, fresh bread, unsliced and full of flavour bread. My favourite food is Pizza, always has been, always will be. Travelling around Italy on a coach as a kid was one of the best trips of my life, Pizza in every shape and size. Obviously being a kid it was Margherita’s all day, but I’ve never forgotten the real taste of Pizza. It’s hard to replicate if you’re only reading recipe’s and you’re using an electric oven. I needed a better understanding of real Pizza so I took another trip to Italy to see how it was done. I knew it had to be wood fired for it to be authentically cooked. I bought a wood fired oven and had a pizza party every week for like a year. I searched for more advice and I found myself working alongside a true Pizzaiolo, a man who came to Manchester from Naples, he had opened numerous Pizzerias across the city and I felt very privileged to have been working with and learning from him. He taught me the way to create the perfect dough and the science behind it, real Neapolitan style! He has continued his journey helping others understand Pizza and so my own journey continues as well. I care about the product I produce and I have passion for what I do. From a Saturday on a Market in Stockport to having now catered Weddings, Festivals and Corporate events all over the North we’re only heading in the right direction.
